Restoring parts - anyone can do it

Ok, so this is not really Sandman specific but six years ago I was unhappy with the result of giving my parts to a professional shop to restore. The result was a part that looked nothing like it did originally so I decided to give it a go myself.

Six years on and I can now turn this...

into this...... I spent today restoring this.

I never in my life thought I would be capable of doing this or achieve such a great result, but a lot of reading, asking questions and practice, practice, practice and I now do them for people all over the world.
This one is going to France.

If I can do it........ anyone can. Have faith in yourself and have a go.... it can save you heaps by doing as much as you can yourself. I just need to stop doing it for everyone else and get back to doing my own resto projects.

    Damn nice job! well done.

I always have a go at fixing/stuffing my own parts. Why not. You get so much more satisfaction out of doing everything yourself!
