Yeah its atuff call , I am sure once its driving away you will be regretting it but all depends on what else your looking at and how bad you want that something else, we have all had cars we wished we had held onto when we were younger and had to sell to get extra cash or because the kids came along but at this stage of your life its sounds different to one of those reasons. If they come back with a better offer I think you will sell?

Havent really heard much about the mini coopers only that they dont go as good as they look, a few friends have the Golf GTi's and the R's , now they go as good as they look if thats what your into, thought about getting one myself but not really into the Euro cars would love a Monaro CV8-R in a manual, great wagon I am sure you wouldnt regret keeping it. Must be tough if the young fella is attached to it as well, good luck.

Hope you don't sell it, but I would have thought an offer of $13k with $15k ask price was fair? If I wanted a $15k advertised car i'd always offer something like $11k, and walk away leaving my number.

if they were keen why did they offer 2k below asking price ? i know its easy for me to say but 13 grand isnt a lot of money these days so if your family love neville so much keep him . mini coopers will always be available but you will never find another neville and if i had the money and space to store him i would seriously consider him .....some cars just look great and neville is one of them so i say keep him

    Hi there,

    x 2 Dont do it.

You have already shown reservations of parting with it, so why bother?

What I did in the same position was this:
As my other projects were taking up space at home and the van is one too many around here, (no sheds), we hired a storage shed (good quality, 24 hr on-site security etc), on the other side of town.
I go start the van every week or 2. As it is a large shed we store heaps of other stuff as well. I'm going to move all my van spares there to make room for spares around here for my other car projects.

At $70 a week this dosn't suit everyone but it works for us and I get to keep my van.

    Just a thought!

Lol space isnt a problem and your right storage sheds are handy we have used them before we bought our place

as for money and motive, if i advertise a price i think i have the right to ask for the price, 15k is fair i am easy to keep it now, there still pushing but im relaxing, another read through just cars to see what i can get for money

my current frame of mind is use neville to fund some fun toys ie things to keep for a year or so and move on, ones that hold there value

I still have a shed full of classics that are keepers but he is a wagon, not a gtr or hk monaro,

wow tuff i even found a nice splitscreen kombi van that would be nice oh dear............

everything has its time and place. if you sell now, human nature suggests that at some point in the future you'll want it back and romanticize about how good it was and how much you loved it. its kind of like dumping a bird and then feeling regret. you wouldnt have done it unless it felt right at the time! If you sell just be prepared at some point to try and find another... half the fun is looking! the other half is fixing/customising. not much fun driving (PV's at least) you cant see out the back!!!! or the sides...
