    Paint stripper is bloody messy.

The gutter is part of the roof section. The side panel includes the inner folded section that the hoodlining strips are welded to. The roof laps over the side panel and they are spot welded together. I have a rough sketch somewhere that I post on another site years ago, will try and find it and post it here.

Mate I paint stripped my whole HZ ute. It had the lots of paint on it too. Orginal primer, original colour, then a respray over the top in the same colour.

I stripped everything. The tray the lot. Would I do it again? hmm dont think so!

I used over 4L of stripper. Melted half my fingers and arms off. Because I was young and silly I also tried doing it on 40+ degree days! So I would have to spread a bit of stripper then get a wet rag and sit it on top for a while so it didint dry up.

All up it took me about 4 days to get the whole thing stripped!

Spend the cash and get it grit blasted, and soda blasted on the larger areas. This is how im doing my HZ GTS.

    Cheers

Thanks mate that would be great if you can find it.

    Jason,
I am only looking at stripping and cutting out the side panels at the moment, so wont be getting the HX blasted for such a small section.

I can't hurt to have a Tips page, I know I would look at it. Any help / info / tips on the resto proccess is an advantage and the readers can choose to use what they want.
