fan motor for heater only getting 6.0 volts help, resistance wire?

hi all just wondering if anyone has had trouble with there heater fan motor/ switch, i have checked the fan and it runs perfectly with 12 volts connected to the 2 speed, but i am only getting 6 volts out of the wires that connects to the motor from the switch, i have been told it could be a resistance wire? does anyone know where this is and what it looks like photos?

Mine didn't work at all but found it was in the switch. I just fiddled with it and it has come good.
    I'm sure it was 12v.
Nah, I'm just driving around looking for someone with licence.

thanks i found out it was a broken positive wire in the loom between the fuse box and the switch, unusual but problem solved
