Yes, had problems with both, but really just down to wear and tear. If both systems are in good condition then they operate fine. The advantage of the hydraulic is smoother/lighter foot pressure (marginally), but then its not original. If you're worried about originality go the rat trap
If you haven't got a bellhousing yet ditch them both and get a WB V8 pedal and a pull type bellhousing off a WB or Commodore.
the rat trap was my worst nightmare, i rebuilt it three times when i had my hz, go the wb pedal heaps easier to adjust and replace cable, but do forget there is no return spring on the wb gearbox as the thrust bearing is always running like the commodore.

Woo hoo, WB rates as the Worlds Best once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not quite, as it is a HZ clutch setup just carried over into WB!

anyone got an idea of the date when the hybrid rat trap / cable type finished - most often seen in HX....

Around VB Commodore introduction. 10/78 HZ definitely had full cable. They are easy to pick by the twin clutch pedal pivot points.
