That really look great and a great finish (I just want one).

Don't Come Knocking If This Van's Rocking
I've had a look at some other pics since you pointed it out and some, as per your pic, are towards the front of the door but if you look at Leif Muliks (spelling?) Green HJ van pics on this forum his look to be similar to mine....or maybe it's just my eyes. Anyway, it doesn't matter now...I'm not going to weld up the holes, move them forward and repaint the doors.:errf:

Awesome, what a great looking van. Well done. Enjoy what's left of this soggy summer (in NSW at least)
I have HQ doors and I think they are furthur forward.
I also have HX/Z Commercial (no intusion bar) doors and I think the are slightly further back. :-S

I was thinking the same thing myself. I'm almost certain that L/H mirrors were not required back then by law but sometime shortly after they were. I have no reason to doubt that the holes in the R/H door are not original unless it had a new door skin fitted at some stage and the holes were simply drilled on the wrong spot.
wb kingswood door mirrors mount further back if i remember correctly?, cause i have to move them in one door on my ute cause its hz,
Very nice, great work...
