this was on ebay a while back.
can't remember anything else about it.

adam i dont get onto this site as much as i would like but i have said before when the question was asked of what is your dream sandman - mine has always been a papaya hx ute or 2nd choice van. i currently have a genuine deauville blue hx and whilst it is registerd and i drive it a couple of times a week it could do with a full resto. I have wrestled with the idea since buying it whether or not to have it restoed and change the colour to papaya - thus reducing its authentic appearance, value and umoletsted/modified status. however it would be papaya and look really cool. i saw that ute you posted (the papaya one) and i have a sneaky suspicion that it was acutally a cut down pvan - i believe it was a genuine sman pvan and someone converted it to a ute - i may be wrong. either way i have long since given up on finding an 'original unmolested unmodified absolute orginal hx ute in papaya' and so given that my ute is pretty much close to that description other than the colour - changing it appears to be the only way i would eventually get one in that funky 70's colour. anyway thats my two cents and my deleamour regarding my ute! cheers, mick - otherwise i have one of those classic carlectables models in a hx papaya ute to gawk at and live in hope!

It really is a cool colour but as said in pretty rare on a HX.

Mick, why not just buy a HX Kingswood ute and do it up as a Sandman painted Papaya. It would be worth more than a standard Kingswood ute and you won't have to "molest" your Sandman????

Here's a photot of my old Papaya LX SLR5000 which I sold to buy my van. Reason I sold it was it needed about $10k at least spent on paint/panel & new interior done which at the time I didn't have. The photo of the car makes it look alot better than what it really was. Where as I could buy my current Sandman finished for the same amount without having to find the $10,000. Must admit I loved the Torana though, and Shaun I absolutely love that pic of the HX Papaya Monaro. Would have to be right up there with cars I would love to own.
