    Sandman door handles

I read on another forum that the black door handles on sandmans were not chromed. The ones on my ute are plain metal under whats left of the paint. Is this a Sandman only thing? I suppose the paint would have stuck better if they were not chromed first?

any holden vehicle that had things painted that should be chromed were left natural...always a diecast component ...started back in fx or 48/215 for the purists...

the best part to buy if you are looking to get something chromed is a painted diecast part as it doesnt pit...so you get a perfect rechromed part..

Ahhhh. Makes sense. Might be a way of confirming some sandmans? I know doors are changed easily though.

    Yes its a helping factor.

Other cars did have the black door handles though. Like the HZ GTS, HX GTS and others.

    Cheers

Your right Gas On, and the van was also black in colour and chrome was what I wanted to make them stand out.

    Gday,

Of course, otherwise you wouldnt be able to find the door handles in darkness after a few drinks!

HZ / WB ones are different to previous models, in that they have the grooves on the outside.

another pet hate of mine when they are on the wrong model.
