I was getting petrol at the servo today and noticed the latest Unique cars had a picture of a orange Sandman on it. Inside is a brief write up (with piccys) on the Sandman and what to look for when buying one.
Obviously I had to buy it....
Not one Sandman listed for sale in the whole book though.......
yes i had a flick thru it as there was a lonmg line up at my servo.
it said sandman buyers guide.
the article said that the Yellow HQ van featured was for sale... with the guys number...
the flaminco HZ had incorrect grille too which was a shame..
It is the correct HZ grill but should be painted black.... does have a HX console in it. Almost all the restored Sandmans I have seen have incorrect parts on them but considering the lack of information that has been out there most of the owners have done a pretty good job.
It is also made harder by the fact that a lot of Sandman vans were mild to extensively modified and changed within weeks of being bought new due to the van craze and owners wanting to express their individuality.
heaps of them wrecked out also for all the GTS goodies.
There was a van in there, not sure if it's a Sandman though (even though it's advertised as one).

We rang up about that van and it was already sold, but from the phone conversation it appeared to be a Sandman, he told us his brother was listing his in the following month...we bought it before the mag. came out...that is the yellow one we have....Originally Posted by agr071
