Love to get in and drive. Not a fan of the restore and look at it school of thought.

So much better over there without the traffic to contend with.

They are the smoothest roads you will ever find. It is a real struggle to find a pot hole anywhere. We only came across a few bad sections, mostly on the roads intoo popular spots like Port Arthur, Tahune air walk and a couple of smaller roads up at the Bay of Fires.

    Suspension
    New Front GSR shocks.
New Front Sports Ryder coil springs.
New Front sway bar “d” + link bushes +”d” brackets.
    New Upper & Lower Balljoints.
New Inner & Outer Tie rod ends.
New Idler arm & drag link.
New Upper Inner & Lower Inner Control Arm Bushes.
    New Rear GSR shocks.
Rear Leaf Spring Reset (inc. eye & shackle bushes + new shackles.)
New Rear sway bar “d” + link bushes + “d” brackets.
Legally lowered all around , it still passes a RWC

Here is all the technical data that Pedders got up on the van. Doesn't mean a lot to me.

Sounds like a great trip. Since finishing the resto on my van (which I drive most weekends) I've copped the same "ya don't see many of them around anymore" thing as well.

My standard reply is " yeah,... well ya gotta have something to do the shopping in"....that usually cracks 'em up.

It also looks like we are running almost identical suspension set ups as well with all the same "new stuff" except I don't have a rear sway bar because HJ's never had them from the factory.

all the dealings that ive had with pedders (from a supply and fit side of things) have been less than memorable... however their rear commy ute springs are better than lovells!

    Well done Ian & Jo!!
Looks like you had a great time, Karen and I did a similar trip in a new VR commodore ute before the kids came along years ago and loved every minute of Tassie and loved the driving experiance. I remember that nearly every second car out in the country would give you a wave.
Doing that trip in a sandman will certainly be going on the bucket list.
great job of recording the trip for all to enjoy. Great stuff.

    cheers Rob.
