    Driver's rside extractors problem...

Can you all tell I'm in the re-assembly stage?

Anyway I've just gone to fit the driver's side extractors and can't get them in. They seem to hit on everything, the steering shaft, clutch fork, rocker cover, bloody everything. Everything is stopping them from going where they are suppose to. They are different to the passenger side and it looks like they should fit once they get into the right spot.
The passenger side is all good so they appear to be the right ones.
I've tried jacking the car up as high as I could but makes no difference.

    My questions are:
Are there different extractors for manuals and autos?
Can they be fitted with the cat trap clutch arrangement?
    What am I don't wrong?
    Why isn't reassembly fun?
Why didn't I check the spelling when I posted this question?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cameron.
