I have bought 4 over the years. 1 was broken. Smooth grain is just the way they are going to be after years of driving. As for buying a new old stock one, can't see the point. You would not be game to use it in case the grain wears off.
If these Rares ones are any good it will crash the second hand market for them. No doubt there is something different about them though.

I have a quick question on these steering wheels.
Are they made with the outer rim exactly the same design as the originals or have they been improved so that they do not suffer
from the exact same problem that has plagued the originals. (Cracking and bending at the hub to outer rim joins etc.)

the area your concered with has been improved and constructed by the modern steering wheel manufacturer and has been independantly tested, ADR testing wasn't just crash/impact tests, we believe there wont be the issues the genuine wheels had

I picked mine up from rare spares, very good reproduction , quality is great, and other than the thinner spokes and the absence of the holden stamp, it would be hard to pick.

how thick are the spokes, still 3mm, ive got a hq 5mm but the grain is smooth :(
