    GTS Dash Clock

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had much to do with repairing these clock's. I have 2 yellow clock and 3 white clock that need repairing, I check in the http://holdenpaedia.oldholden.com/Repairing_Dash_Clocks and had a go myself. Nearly had one going, but really need to give it to someone who is a specialist at repairing these clocks. Does anyone know of a good place to send them or give me some advice.

they never work..ive sold hundreds of gts dashes over the years..i cant remember the last time i saw one that was working....change the internals to quartz movement is the best...
otherwise ...nemisis gauges in newcastle would fix them...

personally i dont want to know what time it is so my clocks if i have one in a van never works..

    hi Sandman77

The clock in my HZ GTS Monaro did not work and I had an instrument guy in Ballarat replace the internal works with those out of a VB Commodore Clock. He said the VB clocks were a really good qaulity.(apparently german made and sourced from Opel GM's Europe arm)The only negative was it slightly moved the position of the adjustment arm in the face.(no one's ever picked this up) He kept the origianl GTS face, and fitted the GTS arms on the VB clock. It works fine and keeps time perfectly.
I'm sure there are people doing different things but this worked in my case.

    cheers Rob.

I've got six clocks and only two of them work. The mechanical part of the clock seems to be OK but the electronic part seems to bugger up on them, it is a very small PC board with capacitors, resistors and diods on it. I have swapped one from a working clock to a non-working clock but it didn't fix the problem...

I am currently trying to get a PC board rebuilt and see if this makes any difference. Using the workings from a VB Commodore clock is a good option but as said the adjustment knob is in a different position and the ticking will drive you crazy if you are ever sleeping in the van when camping... My old van had the VB Commodore clock workings in it and I ended up fitting a on-off switch to it which I mounted under the dash.
