    Fixing my dash fascia

hey guys thought id put up some photos of me fiddling with my dash facia, ive been fusing the plastic to fill holes with a piece of wire and a fire bucket for heat ive made it better than it was, but havent been able to keep enought heat in the wire to do it at a reasonable pace, so ive got a butane touch going this afternoon its at the stage where i could just wipe it with a bit of bog and it would be fixed but ill try get it finished off without any, also fixed the headlight switch, it was cracked like someone tried to remove to facia with the knob still on, the bits ive done are structurally fixed but not visually, got to weld on some mounting lugs aswell
this is it before, i forgot photos earlier, you can see 2 holes between the steering column and the radio, which ive fixed so far

made 2 wholes into 1 because it was easier too

ill take some photos off the headlight switch, im at the stage where i need more heat to melt more plastic in and fill the grooves too sand flat again, it looks rough now, but for my first time not finished i reckon im going allright, especially with wire and a fire bucket

If you need more heat just use a soldering iron.

been out working on it again the butane torch was no better than the fire bucket unfortunatly, was still hard to keep the wire hot enough, have been out at the shed from 7 until now, we've had a blackout since about 2.30 this morning, had 8 since jan 1st, so got the little generator out and used the soldering iron, but i preferr the the hot wire, its kinda like oxy welding, ive made progress, not enough to just paint, so ill keep trying, few little imperfections/dints, but its a big improvement, also fixed the lighter hole, it had a chunk missing if you look at earlier photos, so far im happy enough with the lighter and headlight sections, but still gotta work on the 2 holes i blocked up, photos are up loading now

yeah it would have worked if i tried for longer, but the fire seemed to heat it quickest, since the photo ive filled a few of the bigger nicks, and have bogged the rest of the tiny nicks, and filled the switch hole between the radio and lighter, its as much as ill do until i decide whether to put a original radio and cd in the glove box or cd in dash, ill have to make the radio hole smaller tho, just a tad, does anyone want to post a photo of there radio, yellow needle to match the gauges, maybe Jennie/Rodney?????
