Wow, I never really look in here, clicked the wrong thing and now I'm looking at awesome photos.
I try and take photos of my van off the beaten track but you've really outdone me. Can you start a "The Adventures of Wilko" thread with your old photos. Love it.

Great to see van being used for what maker intended, a man after my own heart. Hope they aren't all cotton balled these days. I also take my cars wherever I wish to go, although I don't think I've done a track as rough as that sounds. Having said that I've, taken my car down tracks listed as 4wd beyond this point.

I always thought those signs were a suggestion. Maybe for Ford drivers Had a Hj sedan I took everywhere, except soft sand have a few good ones of me bogged on the beach somewhere. Mind you there might have been going on.

    Hey Wilco

We were up there from 2000 to 2007 and i rate it as the best time in my life. We still have our home in Broome (at the old Palms Resort) and my old GSXR-1100 still has Wyndham plates on it (bought it in Kununurra). I struggled heaps when i moved to Melbourne but settled in now. Just had to adjust my perspective then settled in ok. Let me attach a pic from Broome for old times sake......

Bugger me, who else has worked/lived in Kunners. I was there in early 2001 driving and spinning spanners for JSW Holdings (local Redimix contracted to grade the Gibb River Rd after the wet), then later Alligator Airways. Had my ute up there with me after the old man put it on the Ghan to Alice and then drove it the rest of the way over to the East Kimberley.

Great times in a great place, used to love getting out of bed at daybreak, heading over to the Diversion Dam and catching a feed of barra before the CALM ranger busted me for fishing the western gates of the dam, heading back home with a decent fish for the barbie/beers after work, then heading to work for the day.

    Awesome photos there!

Thanks Mister Goat, glad to see you started that thread, I've only got a few of the Van with me, mainly with the dutch girl to remind myself & prove to others that I wasn't always the(much older) scruffy recluse I am now.

HZ, Sandaro & Jase, Thanks also, Yep I grew up in N.S.W mallee & never really knew what a 4wd was, my old man was a roo shooter with a valiant & several different holdens, you had a set of chains if it got real bad, but you never chopped anybody's roads up roads up unless in an emergency.

Damien,I don't drink but I've been in the Roey for the "activities" & I've got photo's on cable beach but only in a troopy though, here's one for you

and Taily a couple for you, I know both your employers well. Alligator's finished up, I normally caretake the fishing camps in admiralty gulf for the wet & flew with them often. Diversion dam's got a big fence now, 'sposed to stop the salties walking up over the wall into the lake, as well as the "poachers"

I had the opportunity when I was 19 but at that time I had "more important" things to do...looking back at it now it was a waste of time hehe!
