i dont know of any method to bring the rubber back to life but id try scuffing it and then hitting it with some high fill acrylic primer to get rid of those furry bits and then paint it with a black acrylic. Might crack up but it will present better than it dose atm i reckon.

cant buff rubber - it just melts!

ill try give it a sand and see what happens, id rather not paint it as you said itll crack, ive got interior paint, for plastic i might give it a crack first, im not sure of there was a crack in the rubber, ill have to get a oxygen bottle for the oxy and try melt it together if nothing else will work, worse case have to buy a newie i spose

I'd just buy a new one from Rares. These actually fit really well and look very good. By the time you buy everything you need to bring it back to life it would hardly be worth it.
