Hi all,
I've just joined the forum - I have a WB Van which is about to undergo a complete rebuild. I picked up a shell about 4 years ago, with only minor rust behind the rear wheel arches. The gutters, floor, sills, etc are all rust free, the quarters still have the subtle scallop above the body line and the seams where the side panels meet the quarters are spotless. It was stripped to bare metal, which revealed one small ding in the rear beaver panel around the bumper mount, two small (about 3-5mm) rust holes above the right tail light and a couple of small (shopping trolley) dents. Other than that, it's pretty much spotless and has been sitting idle in the garage in a thin coat of primer. I picked up NOS upper and lower tailgates a few years ago, so they're ready to go too.
Like most, this resto is going to take some time as the funds will be "drip-fed" as/when I can afford it, but I'm keen to get started. First step is to find a good paint & panel guy to tidy up the body and get it ready for paint. Can anyone recommend a good panel shop in Melbourne's outer east? I've rebuilt a couple of cars over the years, but all my old paint & panel mates are out of the game these days. I'm in no great hurry and happy for the work to be done in between other jobs - within reason! Anytime in the next 6 months would be fine.
Cheers...
