    My Van

    Hi all,

Here she is, (assuming the upload worked), it is a claret metallic 75 HJ XX7.

She is originally a factory 6 cylinder, which i had in it until just recently. As an engine rebuild was coming fast due to increased fuel consumtion and increase smoke blowing i decided to put a small block chev with a nice turbo400, i have to say at this stage there are no regrets, having the extra power is awesome. The plan is to rebuild the six and one day take it back to original.....maybe.

When i first got the van, about 5 years ago, the plan was to do a 70's style interior with stereos and all that crap. Luckily about 6 months later i came to my senses and have since been undoing all that. The Van still sports a 70's style fur interior which i am beginning to hate so in the next few months i will hopefully be replacing it with the factory style GTS interior.

I attempted the stripes last year, even had a pinstriper come round, the kit i had just didnt look right. Stripes are still on the drawing board if i can find a good kit, there is alot of crappy ones out there.

More pics to follow, these are quite old, taken before i did alot of the body work.

WOW That's one nice looking rig....

What's the mirror's? I reckon they are the plastic chrome aftermarket type from taiwan?
I reckon i had a set on my Hz ute when i first bought it.

Have to post some updated photo's. Always got a soft spot for the single headlights.
They are now becoming rarer then the twin fronts... Hate hx's with twins on em...

    Cheers Al.

    Hi Al

Spot on with the mirrors!!!! I got them when i first bought the car because i needed wing mirrors fast. The look of the them just seemed to suit the car. If if i could get set of similar ones in steel i'd jump on them!!! You definitely are not the first to point them out.

Im a big fan of the single headlight as well, though when i build another van i reckon i might go for the twin.

    Brucey.

I've got a driver's mirror the same as yours, maybe a little shorter in the snout?
but would be a painted one if you need a spare... not chrome type..

    Cheers Al

So far so good with the new motor. I have a few cooling issues to address, but the car is running really well. Beats a 202 anyday!!!!
