Thread: Engine to Chassis mating time.

    Engines would have been on the subframe/chassis and the body fitted. That is how i'd do it, but Blocker if I were you i'd invest in a 2 pole hoist. A secondhand Molnar is about $2200 installed and certified.

    Id put the engine and trans on the chassis, then lower the body on. That said, with a bunch of mates helping you out, it could be done a hell of a lot easier and safer than trying to do it solo.....all those extra sets of eyes guiding the body on will be invaluable. Best of luck mate

    ive done a few as you would know..have the complete chassis with everything in it done..brake lines fuel lines tank etc etc etc....then drop the body over..there is pelnty of room and you should not scratch any paint...do not bolt the body down before aligning the front panels...once all front panels are aligned and you have the body sitting square on thye chassis then bolt it all down...make sure you use a rattle gun coz they are supposed to be pulled down very tight on the chassis rubbers..

    Thanks mate! This will make my planning easier now that I know what stages the chassis, body and running gear gets prioritized.

    blocker look at the sinbox build in my shed and you will see how we did the removal of the ute body and replacement..even though it wasnt a full blown resto it will give you an idea...
