Question white walls and white lettering

    G'day folks.

I want red-lines on my new set of tyres for the van and LS.

It promted me to do a bit of searching, which has promted me to ask.........

Has anyone had their tyres done white-wall style (or red-lined for that matter)?.
Ive been wondering if traveling 'wallers' visit the NSW country areas that often?
Am I right to think that the cost is around $120 a set of four tyres?
The info says that they remove a small amount of the tyre wall rubber and lay a bead of colour in that groove.
Safe?? ( I could try my hand with the 100mm grinder and a caulking gun full of white silastic :shifty: )

Qu. 2. If there is white walls being created, what about white letters on tyres?
& What van-sized tyres are available with white lettering ?. (Bring back the Eagers !)

Qu. 3. Is there a paint product that does a half decent/ reasonably permanent job of white lettering, or for that matter; white walls ?.

.... and no, Im not going to have both on the tyre at the same time. :Chin:

Not sure. Normally I get them to put the white letters inwards so I can't see them!

I have them on my 15" rims on the HZ (235's on the front when i use the 15"s), and are very happy indeed.
Will never be better then Yokohama's, but overall pretty good.
I'd use them on the Mrs car so that gives you an idea on how much i trust them!!!!

I'd like to find out about the red line as well. From what I understand Dunlop Aquajets (which my HJ was optioned up with origionally) had them? Either that or does anyone know the name or contct details of the mob I've heard are doing them now?

website is: Antique Tyres, just google it. Left hand column look at 'American Classic Radials'.
I had 7 truck tyres brought up by TNT for my Chev, cheapest and best quality I could find. Easy peaople to deal with.
Your tyre:-"The new 215/60R15 American Classic, available with a 3/8" redline or 2" whitewall"
I'd cut and paste the photo but I don't know how, but you will find it.
This is one option obviously there would be more though.

I have white lettered tyres on my van, they are Roadstone Dark Horses and only come in 235/60R14 from Bob Jane in Orange.
I was asked not long ago if I was wanting whitewalls/redwalls because a few people were trying to get a company up from Sydney to do group booking in town.If interested Qset pm me and I will see if they are still going ahead with it.
    Cheers Fewy
