Drive the A750F auto before you decide. I drove both diesel and petrol manual Hilux (same as Prado) and hated both. After being used to V8 manuals, to me they were the pits. I was forever changing gears just to drive it normally. Reversing a trailer in normal 2WD would be awful too. I tried the auto versions and the V6 with the A750F was awesome and that is what I bought. The Prado has the same box on both petrol and diesel so you are lucky to have the choice! In the Hilux I think the V6 auto has more rated torque than the manual, maybe this is something to do with the awful dual mass flywheels in them. I was also warned off a manual dual cab 4x4 by a person high up in the service area of that company in NSW due to the fact that the clutches are not up to reversing at even 2/3 of their rated towing load. It wasn't Toyota but Toyota have their fair share of warranty issues with clutches as well.
