OK. Just saying that any half competent computer geek can hack into anything these days, and organised crime are never behind the 8 ball when it comes to stealing a desirable car thats easily parted out and untraceable. Anyway, just my opinion. Seems silly to temp fate to me though.

Thank god i don't own a sandman. My van has non matching numbers and its not even the original colour. To think I may have been targeted by organised crime.

What about the ebay scams where a nice Monaro is advertised at rock bottom price using someone elses photo's and tag details? Everything checks out for the buyer because the Id tags are right. Some people may be trying to avoid situations like that.

It's not exactly hard to find someone using the net with a few minor details. I've done it on more than one occasion for various reasons, and I'd hardly refer to myself as a hacker.

Car theft in Australia is nearly always run by organised crime for crying out loud. There are the odd losers who knock a car off to go for a joy ride, the rest are rebirthed by organised crime rackets. I can't believe people are naive enough to think because you spend a motza on a Sandman/panelvan in 2011 you are immune to having it knocked off after you advertise to the whole world nearly all your details on the net and then think criminals are not clever enough to work the rest out.

Its all reproduction parts and bog... LOL
Should holt on the photos of the mint dash going in it though..
I completely agree about security. I don't store my van or parts at home or work. I'm completely secure as far as that's concerned...
I would be more worried about identity theft rather than my car to be honest. It has happened to someone I know, now that's scary and you don't have insurance for that.
