Starter motor and Altenator

The ones I had were cactus, any advice what I should be looking for. Hoping I can get new off the shelf ones?

I'm in the same boat as blocker.
I have been looking on ebay and have found that there is a business in Adelaide that does restored original BOSH Alternators and Starters.
I would love to go and have a look at the quality of these items. I'm sure that they would work perfectly, the Finish would be my main concern.
If any one can add to this thread with recommendations to size of Alternators/Battery + sound systems that would be great.

If you aren't worried about being exactly correct try getting a VN-VP V8 one and getting it recoed. Most auto electricians will rebuild them for you.

As HK said most good auto sparkies can do that provided the housing is ok?

Dissy is at the auto electrician getting rebuilt and tested. However the rotor seems to be a little too far from the terminals (using the HEI & Ford Rotor hack) is this normal?

Am considering using an old oil filled electrical coil if I can find one at 12v is this possible?
