    Holden Blue 202 Engine Info

Hi, I pulled apart my spare motor today. It had some water in it, and was siezed.

Long story short, I thought it was a stock motor, but when I got some of the pistons out... They are ACL ones...

My question is can anyone identify them???
The codes on them are (on the inside)
    ACL 3300
    89
    AP1
    1
    (on outside)
    P

The sad part is, that one of my friends that has a heap of money... startes hitting the top of the pistons to try and get them unsiezed... :( There are some marks on the top....

and my next question is can they be fixed???

also, any ideas on how to get siezed pistons unsiezed without damaging them????

    Cheers,
    Matt

Yeah, I did a bit of research last night and found out they are ACL dished pistons and they are 3.625" which is the factory size for a 202.... So there nothing special.

A new se and a stroker kit would be good....
    Cheers,

I was tossing up whether to stroke my 253 and keep the original engine or to drop a 308 in??

A stroked 202 would be sweet also. What are your plans with the motor-vation?

    I am thinking about:

Blue 202 Block (Machined and Acid Dipped)
VK Fuellie Head (Decent Valve Job and Minor Porting)
    Crow Cam (35665)
Valve Gear (Use what is recommended by Crow Cams)
    Roller Rockers
Hypereutectic, ACL Race Series or Duralite Flat Top Pistons
    Zero Deck
    Standard 12 Port Intake Manifold
    34ADM Weber Carburettor and Adaptor
Standard Oil Pump (Cleaned Up and Minor Porting on Block)
    Black 202 Conrods
    Electronic Ignition
    Standard Fuel Pump
    Powerbond Harmonic Balancer
    ARP Rod Bolts
    Alloy Straight Cut Gears
Extractors and Full 2.25” Exhaust System
    Head Set up for Unleaded
    Thermo Fans
    Engine Fully Balanced

The engine would be running on Premium unleaded, have a comp ratio of 10.5:1 and have between 150-170rwhp....
    Cheers,
    Matt

Nice, it's crazy how much work on the engine not even to get to the BA Falcon's 180kw straight six, but so much fun.

    Will you build it yourself?

Yeah, there is heaps of work needed to get some decent power out of the good old holden 6...

Yeah, I probably will build it myself with some help from an engine shop etc.

The power of the falcon motor may be higher, but it has modern fuel injection and the benefit of years of improvements over a basic Holden 6. However that Holden 6 has racing history that no modified Ford truck motor will ever match.
A fair comparison is with the 1980-1984 Ford 6 cylinder.

Oh yeah I completely understand WBute, I was just saying exactly that, it's amazing how much difference a lot of development can make ;). Deffenatly not slandering the little straight 6.

The old Fords ay? I am guessing that they were a wee bit slow then??
