Which Decal set for HZ sandman

Hi Guys.
I want to purchase my stickers for my new sandman project and I am a bit confused.
The van has DY3 stickers on it and your chart says it should have DY6 to go with the paint number 1189 ( firethorn ).
Can someone shed light on this for me.

It would not be unusual to order a different decal set if the dealer allowed it. There could be a few scenarios;

Customer ordered.
Dealer did not have DY6 available.
Decals bought and added sometime after sale by previous owner.

Thanks for the reply but which decals would be the most likely to have been on when it left the factory.
I will by a set of this site as the last set I got where of fantastic quality with no hassles.

For HX and HZ the stripes were ordered and fitted by the dealer not the factory. The recommended decal for your colour by GM Holden was DY6, but you could order any colour from the dealer at the time. So it is your choice what you put on your Firethorn van.

To clarify.. mySandman.com.au does not manufacture or sell decals, however Jason from stickthisdecals frequents this site often and you can order decals from him.

I thought only HQ and HJ decals were dealer fitted. HX and HZ were optioned and factory fitted.

Correct, HX-HZ were assembly plant fitment unless DL7 optioned. There were standard combos for each colour. Is your van in original paint?

I prefer the DY6 to the DY3, so I have PM'd Jason and will get another set of him as l did with my last Sandman, The color of my van is a browner color than the original Firethorn that is underneath, probly had a sticker change when it was repainted somewhere in its life and l just want it to be original, Cheers and thanks.
