    Rocker cover ID

    More questions from me

These covers were removed from my old 253, do they appear to be correct for a HJ rebuild?
They have been chromed but I plan to paint it.

Blocker... This is the configuration of those tappet covers. The oil filler is on the passanger side.

This is a picture of a HJ engine bay with the filler on the drivers side.

This is a HQ 74 engine bay.

I have the ones like yours as well on my HQ. Which ones were used in what configuration?

Thanks Mauser. The engine I stripped was reconditioned and therefore I cannot rely on it to be original configuration.
Great photos for reference, I had a chance to buy an air filter cover today but passed it up because I wasn't 100% it was the type I need.

If you can hold on a couple weeks I've got an untouched 308 HJ Statesman at the farm. Let us know what you want pics of and I'll take some snaps.

Not going to help you with HJ maybe. But I have hundreds of hz gts pics if they are any use.

Top two are wrong for HJ. Bottom one shows PCV and breather in corect locations. Middle one has the right rocker covers.

This is a 1974 HJ engine bay so no canister. Obviously the air cleaner and carb are wrong, and the heater hose is pulled back onto the inner guard as the switch was leaking. Rest is pretty much right.

If anyone has a mint choke air pipe with heatproof wrapping attached let me know if you want to part with it. Mine is there but it has been bent to suit the Holley and when I bend it back for the Quaddy it may break. You can see the pipe in Mauser's second photo.

Blocker, this picture of the unrestored A9X engine bay on ebay has the filler cap on the passanger side like yours and mine... maybe its a Banana thing?

Not sure about the filler cap but LH and early LX 308 had the PCV and breather arse about compared to HJ.

OK a look through the illustrated parts catalogue pg. 92 - 96 covers the engine ventilation.

V8 for both pre and post ADR27A has oil filler front drivers side just like HK1837 posted
