That is what I am thinking as well,as it doesn't look right without the vertical line.

I haven't thought about doing that as I was trying to keep body looking as original as possible within my abilities.

    That's a bit of a tough one.
It probably would look better with no line, but NOT original. Holden probably should have filled it, but it's just a commercial vehicle, so money was saved by not doing it.

I have to do a small repair on my van in the same spot, so now you have me thinking.....
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

When I got my van the line was filled in. I've just had it fixed with the line back there now. Can't say the line missing bothered me much and nobody else seemed to notice either.

As Adam says, that just screams bogged up rusty sills. If it's just a Holden van and you're customising it then smoothing over lines is what was done in the 70's...... But I wouldn't be doing that to a genuine Sandman these days as anyone who knows these cars will simply assume its had a bodgy job done on rust repairs...

I also filled in the line that runs down the rear taillight area where they fitted the rear quarters. I reackon that tidied it up as well.

once youve done a bit of filler over your repair id just cut a fine line in the bog with a grinder, then squirt on a bit of primer.
trust me it almost looks factory
