My work nokia used to give me dramas with the VE bluetooth, and cause all sorts of echoes, but the iphone had no such issues.

If you want to put music on it, then import your own MP3 collection into itunes. I've got 20gb worth on my current one, and it's all ripped from my own CDs.

It doesn't affect you now, but down the track it's something to consider - I've now got an FG ford, and the iphone works through the Ford's audio system (they provide an ipod/iphone specific plug in the console) and it integrates into it, allowing you to use the Ford's display & stereo/steering wheel controls to work your music collection - no other phone can do that.

The iphone is also so easy to learn - my 13 month old neice knows how to scroll thru the pics & take photos now.....
Both my 2011 SR5 and V2 CV8 have an Eclipse AVN726EA unit in them, and it is like the Fords as Mick says: they have an iphone cable hanging out of them that you plug the iphone into and you can control the iphone from the touch screen as if it was part of the system. This includes phone, music, video etc. Even the cheap units you see on Ebay that are low cost/quality versions of the Eclipse unit do the same/similar thing. So you can make calls (shared contacts), listen to music, play movies etc all from the touch screen.

I would like to also change the FG GT stereo to the current as the Ute has the Ipod plug, but in 30 years time when the kids roll up the garage door and say here is Dad's original GT falcon, it won't be original will it....

Rodney has Iphone 4 and I have 3, we love them....

Same with a lot of the Pioneer ones. The Tarago we bought had a Pioneer AVH 3250BT already installed, and I was suprised when I found out that they're only about $800 retail (as long as you don't get the GPS module which is an extra $1000.) That gives you DVD, USB and SD card playback of music and movies, Bluetooth and full iPhone/iPod control through either USB or Bluetooth. Fantastic little brand name unit. I've added another handheld screen with headphone jack to the DVD output and a pair of ebay headrest monitors with their own DVD/SD/USB players and wireless headphones. On a long trip the kids can watch the same or different movies, the passenger can watch their own (something that's not Wiggles or Roary) and the driver can still listen to the radio or ipod through the speakers. It's all a bit antisocial but driving to Albury there's nothing to really see on the highway any more and the screens make the trip go really quick for everyone.

i stand corrected today! had a look at a friends new samsung galaxy thing, and wow. they are sensational! video/camera quality is impressive and screen is so clear!!

i would almost get one of those instead of a new iphone next time, LOL but its a hard choice. they look similar to use to the iphone, if a little more involved and confusing.

good luck with your choice. its a toughy!

Wow I have got a head ache, think i will let her win and that way I get a new phone, but for the money I would prefer a dual exhaust system for the Prem and for her Money a Exforce System for the VE
