What generation HJ? There are 3 x different engine bays for these and they vary a fair bit. Early HJ are basically as per late HQ. 1975 HJ have a canister. Very late HJ may have ADR27A and look like HX. Also vary between auto and manual. There are also variations in between like when rubber skirts attached to the inner guards changed from staples to plastic buttons etc.
4/76 308 manual just looking for corect coil position and corect rocker covers and little bits thank you
Hi Kruiz,
It will be similar to Will's here. Prob the thing that usually misses out is the breather from the rocker covers to the air filter. Later Air filters have the tube on the other side.

Here is a '74 V8 HQ engine bay. You can see the hose from the tappet cover to the air filter is unattached and the housing turned around a bit. Prior to '74 the air filter trumpet was bare and the tappet cover had a breather in the cap.

This is a HQ 253 one with the breather pipe to the front.

This is a pre-74 early HQ one with no breather hose.

Here is a HZ one and although it is backwards to the others you can see the breather hose exited at the rear to plug into the passanger side bank.
Is the '74 HQ the only car to have the hose in this configuation and a unique air filter housing or were early pre-75 HJ's the same?

This pic is of a one owner HJ 308 column trimatic ute. The guy ordered it from the factory with a GTS dash, GTS wheels and factory air shocks (which are still on the car).
Hi GTS,
That air filter breather hose must snake around and connect at the back?

It had a short hose off the PCV valve then onto a T piece that went to the carby on one end and the canister on the other. Dunno if that part of it was original???
