    The Goat Van

So I was talking to a forum member who is known for his tact and subtlety and he imparted these words. “Goat, stop messing around with all this rubbish, and get yourself a van that’s on the road”

Shortly after this the wagon was sold and a free space was found in the shed. 4 Days later I found myself leaning on the bonnet of this.

Here be some previous photos we've all seen before

The aim of this project is to keep it on the road as a daily driver while slowly fixing up the small bits and peices. The idea is to make a nice daily driver van, without spending a fortune.

Step one, get the GTS rims with reasnoble paint out of the corner of the shed and steal the good tyres off the ute.

Now somewhere in here is a step where I spent a couple nights realigning the door locks and regreasing everything so the doors and tailgate now lock. Also they latch and in the case of the doors are a one finger close job.

Anyway, back onto things I have photos of.
Step 2, Clearly that carpet had to go. There was only carpet in the front of the cab and no underlay. Road noise was spectacular and there was some nice warm exhaust draft comming up through the hole in the floor around the shifter.

Removing the carpets we find a couple of surprising things. Firstly, a lack of rust. Secondly, Mook is a jonny and coke kinda man.

Now, there have been some crazy accusations flying around that I'm a hoarder. On a unrelated note, here is a brand new carpet sitting on the roof of a ute with 5 years of dust.

Fitting some dense sound matting under the carpet. A bored dog does wonders at holding things in place.

And the underlay is fitted. You'll notice the hole around the shifter has been fixed while we're at it.

And finally the carpet is in.

    Nice updates!

You are going to want some floor console mounts.
