Great weather this weekend, time to clean the fuel tank so it can be ready in time for fitting to the restored chassis.
Any tips now would be good, but I'll post up my process with photos etc when I'm done.
the best product you can use to clean all the years of gunk residue and to seal the tank with a ceramic type coating is POR 15..google it..i have used it on harley tanks and i have also recommended it to my customers with at least 1/2 a dozen people using it and coming back to rave about it..its a slow process over around 5 hours but its not a 5 hour full time job..
I have an old Honda tank here, scaly rust inside. Will it work on that Greg?
you got the 60 litre job did you blocker?..around $120 ...?
make sure you read the directions carefully and use it as per the directions..have you got a hot air gun..if not go and buy a cheapy coz you need it to dry the tank as per the directions..

james,my 5 gallon harley tanks had gunk and scaley rust and some moron had painted it without masking the cap holes..1 also had a large dent that was repaired..i was forever getting paint and rust blocking the fuel filter..to do my tanks was the motorcycle one which was around $60..yes it would work..
get some alibrite (hydroflouric acid) and brush the outside so it comes up all shiny again. $10 job.

I have used and like POR15, has anyone use the cheaper Australian made product for restoration?
