thanks hx and oz, is this sorta stuff uncommon on here i thought this is what everyone did in there shed, fixing their utes and vans, i presume by pg13 you mean the door, it could have been better the door skin didnt come away very easy even with it inpicked, so when i put the new bit in i doesnt look the same, but who looks there if i ever need to door a bit of bog will fix it, ill go take a pic of the finished product see what you all reckon

heres a pic of what the passenger guard ended up like, but for some reason it wouldnt fit, the car must have hit something softly, enough to twist the front clip but no damage the pannels because the holes into the nosecone were about 1/2" out, will put it away one day someone might be desperate enought to try make it work

heres the door cant see it real well because of the rust sealer/converter stuff i painted on

and for any ute owners heres a tool/storage box i made for my yr10 metal work project, sealed and locks, all fitted to the back of the cab, took alot of test fitting to get it right, this is the front, to the cab wall

theres a bloke in coonababran nsw hr and a bit from dubbo, he can acid dip them, got hq and z stamps, he said the hq ones wernt 100 perfect, but i spose he did a lot of research before he started, i think they were $250 a guard, ive got a feeling that included acid dipping, cant quite remember, i can try track down a ph number for you
