The exterior also features a strange double casing design, with a smooth wraparound coating covering most of the body while the snout and rear of the Tubik poke out at either end, a bit like a sausage in a hot dog.

This a very apt description, not a Sandman, never will be a Sandman, will never compare to a Sandman. Thats like me trying to pass off my WB as a Sandman-utter bollocks!

The only part that would be in a Sandman is the bed, even that is a futon. Sandman? Nahh, I don't think so.

More like a Bedford, Kombi or (dare I say it) Bongo van, the interior styling is more in the 80's custom van scene.

The great thing about the article is that the Sandman brand is still alive and well and it still conjures up memories of the sun, surf and sex subculture of its time.

Sort of reminds me of Harry's Dog Grooming van from the movie Dumb and Dumber. It just needs the droopy ears, tail and shaggy fur coat.

Ha ha yeah I love that movie. But I thought that it looked like a fat little pig.

You can't recreate the style of the 60s and 70s well they did with the Effijy (sorry not sure of how they spell it) and they tried with the torana and that was just a small VE commodore. I would have bought one though because I like the concept of a small rear wheel drive car with a big engine ;).

They should have made that instead of the Cruze
Black WB bodied HZ panelvan with a 400 chev called Frankie :nerviness:
