    308 Red Motor

I am looking at buying a one tonner as another project and it has a red 308 motor cast date 75K3 and is fully reco'd. My idea is to put the motor in my 77 Sandman what I want to know is how difficult will it be if at all to get in blue slipped with a slightly older motor is it just the emmissions test it will have to pass and if so would this be reasonably easy to get around even if temporary for the sake of passing for a blue slip (NSW). I know it wont be any near the correct build date for my 11/77 HZ but I am not too bothered about that at this stage and besides it was originally a 253 and my preference is for a 308. For around $2000 with reco'd motor , m21 and new clutch, simmons wheels the tonner seems to good to pass up and will swap the blue 308 on gas from the van into it for a everdayer.

As above. You might want to check the cast date code again as 75K3 is not a valid code. Post the engine number and i'll tell you what the code should be like.

Yep, all my 253's are QR. 308 should be QT or 11qt if it came from a stato.

Should be right Craig as long as you have the pollution gear still, how's your sides coming along?
