Hey guys after a few tips n tricks to try and save my mirrors. One is empty (just a shell) and the other the backing plate for the mirror has come off the ball joint. Can the guts be replaced with another type of donor mirror etc? I cant be assed looking for (and paying for) another set

Hi Guys. Dont know if anyone can help? My panelbeater painted some mirrors for me but managed to cross thread and stuff the bracket hinge. Is there anyway of removing this from the painted housing or is it all built in?

id try a self tapper in there dude. you can see in my pic above that its not a straight forward affair behind the mirror!

When the mirrors were made they were assembled using the bracket hinge first and securing it with a spring and nut. This allowed enough tension to ratchet for adjustment. Then the swivel was hot glued into place. Then the glass was attached to the pivot plate that had double sided tape. They could not be dismantled.You can see in your photos how it was done.
Is just replacing the mirrors only a straight forward job and are they something you can buy from Repo places or just can your local glass man to cut them for you, cheers
