Take pics of the centre console mounts.
Console mounts may not help on HQ. If it has the mount there it is most likely is a Sandman, BUT seat separator in HQ used the same mount. I have to have a bit better look at this in the HQ ordering procedure wrt seat separator and 4spd.
If it still has the Pagewood gold painted firewall intact it may also have a telltale that is visible once the guards are removed.
I would have to have a better look if it has console mounts or not, i didnt take to much notice at first.
HK1837 - If it still has the Pagewood gold painted firewall intact it may also have a telltale that is visible once the guards are removed.
Sorry HK1837 not sure i know what you mean with the above comment???? please explain.

Yes it still has the GTS dash in it
1974 Pagewood HQ's had body colour painted firewall. With the guards off there are certain chalk markings I have seen down low under the paint (paint lifts off the chalk). If it has been resprayed in that area the marks will be gone.
Sounds like HQ's are rather confusing.....
So pull the gaurds off and have a look in other words and also have a look if its got a rear console mounts. I'll have a look this weekend when i do some work on it and see what i find. Thanks alot for you help
Chalk marks may not help you much. It isn't the fact they are there, it is what they mean. For me it is still research in progress. That is why I made my initial comment, first word of the second sentence.
Good ol Hq debate, really creates a bit of fun for all involved...one of lifes little mysterys really!!

Have a read through this buddy and send me any questions via pm you have and ill send you some other stuff that have that might be of assistance.
Good luck mate i hope it is for ya so we can add you to the list!!
HQ's are no harder than many others to identify. There are simply not that many around which makes them much less talked about.
