    Diff Ratio's.

    G'day Fellow Vanners & Uters,
    Thought I'd raise the topic of diff ratio's for everyone to contribute their views, seeing how's it hasn't been raised yet (I think). My van has a 253 & auto & thank goodness it's got the 3.36 diff ratio as it would be damn slow off the mark otherwise. 75% of my driving is suburbia so it's a good ratio - not too bad off the mark & fun to drive but the other end of the scale is it revs pretty high doing 110 on the highway (which burns a hole in my pocket quicker too), seeing's how it's got a 4 barrel carby. A happy medium (my opinion of course) would be the trusted old 3.08 ratio.
    I know of course it all comes done to drivers surroundings.

    Cheers,
    Glenn.

    3.08 is a good ratio with 253 4 speed as it still has enough that you dont have to ride the clutch and it brings revs down on the highway...ive had a few 350 chev t400 vehicles with 2.78 and i just put a 3.08 behind the same driveline and its much better..not as sluggish...mind you it had 3.55 which was great for lightin em up..

    I've got a 308, t400 with a 2.78 and 15" wheels.
    Yes it's slow off the mark but loves freeway use.
    I like mine for open road cruising.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

    Struth Shaun,
    That's quite rare with 3.55 ratios.

    Not that rare, I've got around six Sandman's recorded with GV7 diff ratio's. One is a L20 - M20, one is a L31 - M41??? and the others are L32 - M20.

    Mine is GV7 L32 M20. Way too low a diff ratio for on the highway.
