What a great body too. Get rid of those portholes, clean up and paint by the look of it. I've found two in outback NSW in similar condition also.
Definatly a great find, well worth restoration!
love it you always wonder how such a straight van ended up parked and stripped, in all honesty there only 30 odd years old, some i spose get loving from factory some just get treated like a car, used from a to b,
I often think where will be my moderns in 30 years time, hope fully not like this
Good find and if your buying keep us updated, if you not hmmmmmm
Heaps of GTS's, Sandmans and SS's were stripped for parts for 1-tonners in the 90's. Only those inland survived. Rest were scrapped.
A lot were also stolen and stripped in the 80's to build one tonner tow truck's. I think the one tonner's were deemed illegal as tow truck's, as they disappeared seemingly overnight at a later stage.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
All the car was there except original motor. he had it in his shed, was worried about thieving scum. Lucky for it its been a drought for the last 15 years. I was after the l31 but a 253 will do as long as i got the colour i wanted.IMAG0143.jpgIMAG0137.jpgIMAG0138.jpgIMAG0160.jpg
