HQ 253 Ute - to buy or not to buy

This may sound like a dumb ass topic for discussion but ive been offered a running HQ wellbody ute with 253 and GTS guards, mags etc. Tags are missing. I havent seen the ute yet but apparently its running/driving etc. Unlicensed though.

Its going to cost be a carton of bundy colas, hire of a car trailer and trip down the coast. $250 all up i reckon.

Heres the clincher... Ive got no real need for the parts and no where in the city to stash it. Im a sucker for a deal so im struggling to say no to this one but my girlfriend and better judgement are telling me not to bother :knockout:

So thoughts??? and what it might be worth for parts and as a whole car??

    cheers guys

Your girlfriend and better judgement need to shut the hell up. If you've seen the prices adamperth reckons he gets for parts over there then it sounds like a goldmine.

yes when we find utes, or any form of holden HQ-WB on the side of the road, we try and buy nosecones, guards dashes, and what ever looks to be a good spare, if we crash our van, (heaven forbid), it will only become more difficult to source parts...just looking at ebay would be an Indication of what people are paying for rare parts now.....

    1) go get it.
    2) don't tell girlfriend what your doing.
    3) tell your mates its like a garden Gnome, and they can each have it for a couple of weeks until the heat dies off.
    4) then bring it home
    5) Sell HQ V8 accel. linkage set up for $200 and your all square,....

if its all too much, and its no go... perhaps you could consider this ute going to the holden rescue haven here in rockingham!!! lol
