i certainly hope not but with some of the stupid laws being passed lately you never know. A friend was holidaying in the NT a few weeks ago and pulled over in a National Park for lunch, they put out the roll out awning on the caravan and were sitting under it with table and chairs having lunch when the Ranger came along, told them they were camped illegally and fined them $150.

Another friend was on his way to Townsville and after driving for five hrs decided to pull over on the side of the road for a rest at 1:00am...... Around 2:00am he was awoken by highway patrol telling him to move on as he can't sleep on the side of the road and needs to find a designated rest stop???? So much for all the "rest or R.I.P" advertising....

Parked on kerb facing traffic , the list goes on but he's new so making a name for himself , but I'm sure it's not the name some people call him.

I asked a mate who is highway patrol officer about the signage and his opinion was they couldn't book me for it but time will tell. I suppose it's a case of take it as it comes. There are a number of replica 05 and 25 race cars that sport the Marlboro signage that also have rego so we will wait and see. It's not something I'll be driving every day and I reckon the majority of the time it would be going to and from a rally where you could argue it has historical significance.

I was just thinking along the lines of Biante and Classic Carlectibles Di-cast models, they are not allowed to sell them with any cigarette branding on them.... Looks stupid without the Marlboro name on the Brock A9X Torana.

Looking great Rallyvan. Be prepared for a lot of attention......and I mean a lot. Mine has been on the road a month now and it's been turning heads every time I go out (and mine is a daily driver). Plenty of photos being taken whilst its parked which is great publicity for my new business. Cant wait to get these two together at Bathurst next Easter.

As far as the Marlboro signage goes, the official advice is...

The Act defines ‘tobacco advertisement’ more broadly than the everyday meaning of the term. Section 9 of the Act defines a ‘tobacco advertisement’ to be any writing, still or moving picture, sign, symbol or other visual image that gives publicity to, or otherwise promotes or is intended to promote, smoking or the purchase or use of tobacco products.

You could argue that my van without the logo breaches the act however I would argue that anyone under the age of 18 who recognises the link between my van and smoking has more than likely been exposed to smoking by a parent or friend long before they saw it. Yours is little less subtle so you could encounter some issues if any do-gooder gets on their high horse after seeing it. I hope not as it does look great and to be completely honest, its what enthusiasts want to see. Its the most asked question when people approach me. "Are you putting the Marlboro logo on it?"

I think the signage looks fantastic, actually, brilliant. I for one would hate to see it taken off but if someone wanted to apply the letter of the law you just might be buggered. Lets hope common sense prevails.

No one will give you a hard time over the signage you simply replicated history ! If you use it as a promotional tool in any way you may have a big proplem. Just watch any historic afl game and you will see plenty of smoke signage and they still play it on telly

Not cutting up the sides to fit windows although my sticker guy is going to print some "stick on windows" up. We will fit one up and see how it looks. If it looks Ok we do all 4 if not it stays plain white. I had thought of doing a montage of photos of the various Round Australia and Australian Championship winning Holdens that where printed out in a window shape but have gone away from that now.
