ive been told they are very good..the price is around the same as when i use to buy genuine skins 20 years ago...i shall tell you soon as i was going to order one this week for the sinbox as ive got plenty of good genuine tailgate shells but all have damaged skins and ive decided that sinbox needs a strong tailgate coz im still luggin diffs etc around in her..
I have a good tailgate as well, stuffed skin. Seems a better idea than replacing a good tailgate just cause the skin is damaged! Let us know how they are Greg.
they r brilliant not just tailgate skins but across the board metal strength n fit is well above taiwan option ....... p.s damaged skins can be rerolled n hammered by an ol skool gent in melbournes west he works from his garage done some amazing work on a hr ute every panel was made from scratch n i doubt anyone could tell .......p.s.s anyone chasing rust removal in melb . can do .including windowless conversions that dont look like a farmer did it hahahahahaha
Got an amateur question for you guys, I have a WB ute and the tailgate is pretty average. I have an offer of a good tailgate from a HJ van, Im assuming it will bolt on but is there ANY difference at all between them? Also between other model utes?
There are cut outs on the top outer corners of the van tailgate to allow it to shut and not foul the upper panels of the van. Otherwise the same. I had a panelvan tailgate on my old HQ. Just a matter of how good you want your ute to look.
Thanks for the reply. Might be better of fitting a new skin then the ones above look good. What's involved in replacing the skin? Anyone got photos?
Plus a panelvan one won't have holes for the tonneau cover clips.
Any of you guru's changed the skin on the ute tailgate? I've got 2 tailgates here only problem is the outer skin is damaged.
I know it's an old thread but thought better than starting a new one.
