Hi! I would like to share a recent experience. The front of my van flooded after the two drain holes at the bottom of the passenger door (hidden by the door seal) became completely blocked, and no longer drained water that accumulated inside the door.
The van was parked out-side, during recent heavy rains. The water leaked through a gap on the outside rubber of the window. It filled the bottom of the inside of the door, level with the bottom of the speaker cut-out. The water then ran into the van carpet area until it could hold no more water and found it's way back out
The interior has seen better days, the carpet & underlay is soaked, door trim warped, wiring loom wet, seat frame rusted.
Fortunately, it's just a car and all can be repaired; but the time & cost involved wouldnt have been necessary if the rubber was replaced & drain holes were poked through every now and then.
I am writting to encourage other enthusiasts to check the rubbers, and poke a piece of wire through these drain holes at regular intivals, and if your van is parked outside - do it RIGHT NOW! I would hate for anyone else to go through this messy experience.
Thanks for listening.
