    Floor shift cut out

Can someone enlighten me as to why some floor shift holes in the trans tunnel are cut neatly and others look like the were hacked out with a cold chisel? My HJ van shell is as neat as a pin but my HX ute is as rough as. They seem to vary from vehicle to vehicle.
(I'm not talking column shift converted to floor shift but factory cut out).

My HX looks terrible also, but my WB looked perfect and so did the HJ.

Certain my HX is factory floor shift. It looks like it was an oxy cut almost. Too dark in the shed to take a pic, but will when I get a chance.
Were they stamped or just cut out in the factory as needed? One floor pan fits all sort of thing.
