BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
Yeah I knew there would be some that like it.... I am not a fan of dark metallic colours except for blues.
I don't particularly like Jade green, Malachite, dark Carmine, or Persian Sand either.

It's far from my fav colour, but I plan on taking it back to as origional as I can so I will be thinking long and hard. The colour is starting to grow on me a little and I can't say I have seen one that colour other than the photo posted on this thread.
had to see what it would look like with no windows, as the one I have got has none. Could look like this without the black on the bonnet.
Mine also has twin headlight front, will be looking at puting single headlight front on as from everything I can find the HX came out with single, altho I have been told that some late HX came out with twin close to the change over to HZ, but who knows?
It has had a sunroof put in and I will be looking into getting it taken out and repaired. Has anyone done this successfuly or got any comment on experience attempting this?
All HX Sandmans had the single headlight front from the factory.... The BO6 Ambulance pack is sometimes mistaken for a Sandman as they came with GTS dash, bucket seats, Premier trim and the twin headlight front.
I have welded in a panel to fill in a sunroof hole on a mates XY Fairmont many years ago and it is extremely difficult to do without warping.... unless you are very competent at welding I wouldn't suggest attempting it.
These days there are excellent panel glues available and can be used quite successfully by the amatuer restorer. I would cut the roof section needed from a van being wrecked to use as the infill panel, the edge around the hole is recessed using a special tool, your infill panel is cut to size and then glued in. Once the glue has set you bog the joint and prep for paint. Fortunately the joint on the inside is covered by the hoodlining.
