I'll get my HJ one to you too. I wonder if you can fix the HZ Premier GTS one I now have too, by cutting off the bottom whole corner containing the radio coutout and welding in a same piece off a normal HZ Premier fascia. I'm pretty sure I have a normal HZ Premier fascia somewhere with a perfect left lower quarter.

I also came across a perfect HQ console the other day with a small piece broken off. It may be worth repairing too. I'd also have a dozen HJ-HZ consoles around and at least that many HK-HG also, a few of each need minor repairs. Will dig them all out one day and have a look.

I'll give anything a go Byron, playing with repairing a HJ console at the moment.

You can't use the whole radio panel from a Premier because it doesn't have the fake allen key holes in it like the GTS fascias unfortunately.

I could neatly cut a section out of a Premier fascia and make it a tight fit from the front and welding only from the back so there would only be a hair line visible.... the only problem I can see with that though would be matching the grain.... unless they all have the same pattern?

    Absinth,

You couldnt make or someone have the blanking plate that goes at the rear of the HQ console in place of the ashtray?

Hmm, just thinking on the Prem fascia, is it one flat radio panel like a gts one..... I could drill holes for the allen key look, cut the ones from the old section and weld them in from behind also.... I think that could work..... shoot it would take a lot of work too.....

They arnt really like a dash fascia... I had one once in a short HQ console. It was just a plate of plastic that looked like the HQ console sides. It would need some clips so you can put it in after it is screwed down to the rear mount.

Sorry mate I was thinking the radio blanking plate on the dash..

Console ashtray blank off wouldn't be too hard to make and weld in if you have an old damaged console you could cut a piece from.

I think this is a picture on one on a brown hq console. Greg could prob confirm if this is the right one.

I have another short green hq console that's kicking around but its complete... broken HQ consoles are hard to find..lol

Mine is a black console but I could paint the plate. It needs to clip on somehow so you could access the rear mount sqrews.

Not hard to find broken ones, I saw five of them at the wreckers in Geelong. You could cut a panel out of any console, even a seat seperator would do..... problem is finding one cheap enough to cut up....

On another note.... I've finished four GTS dash fascia restorations.... look great now with the silver border and new badges fitted to the HZ ones. One HJ, one HX and two HZ.

    Going great guns Absinth,
I'll have to get my arse into gear.
With the silver outline around the dash facia was that originally silver or chrome?

I know that a class does something.
