HJ Sandman van resto

[GTS]

This is how I bought it last year. It came less motor/box and interior so I ended up buying another 2 vans to make one. From information available to me I'm confident it's a genuine Sandman (although it was a 6 cylinder 4 speed) and it's going to be restored to how it was when it was new...or as near as I can get it apart from the driveline. The body was taken off the chassis and both were sandblasted. The body has since been proof coated underneath and the chassis painted. I got the 308 fired up last week for the first time and its all coming together nicely. A few more bits to finish on the chassis and its time for the bodywork.

I dont know why I cant log in as GTRPU anymore, but not to worry...I'm now a GTS
A quick update on the van. The engine is running and I drove it out of the shed for the first time about 4 weeks ago. The exhaust has been fitted and I got a factory air con unit for it as well. Just waiting for my panel beater mate to get over the flu before I drop it off to him.
I fitted up the front panel for ease of transport. The GTS guards are already at my mates workshop. If the stars, moon and planets align it should be ready for paint about mid/late August.
