I don't think I'll make it Jennie. I'm off to Port Macquarie on Friday for a few days and I still have a lot of little jobs to do....and that only leaves one weekend to finish it. At this stage I'd say I'll be looking at late August for rego.

That's one good thing about the current no. plates. Mine is white numbers & letters on a blue background.

The painter came over last week and buffed the van and I got most of the interior finished last weekend....except for the cover panels in the back which just have to be painted.

The tacho wasn't working and I discovered the brown wire from the coil changed to yellow at the instrument harness plug. WTF? Anyway, after I pulled the dash apart.....again, I found that the brown wire from the tacho was seperate to the harness and didn't go through the plug at all. It must be off a later model because I had another instrument harness which had the brown wire in the right spot. I swapped the wiring, hooked everything back up, and now the tacho works. One problem I couldn't solve, and someone here may be able to help me, is the altenator warning light comes on with the ignition in the off position. It goes out when I start the engine.

I hooked up all the hoses etc for the air con after buying a reco compressor that has all the late model guts in it to take the new a/c gas. Also fitted the reco carby I got from Hume Performance. The doors are both fitted up with all the hardware as well and I chucked the new dress rims on. All the lights are working including the interior light and even the park brake warning light.

To get that "Sandman" feeling, after 2 1/2 years of doing this, I broke out the "Sandman" stickers and whacked them on. I feel better now.....sorta.

A signwriter mate is coming over in a few weeks to fit the long stickers on the side.

    Not long now.
