Today it happened......after just over 2 1/2 years of building this damn thing I got to drive it out of the driveway and down the road. No....I don't have rego yet (it's booked in next Monday for that).
I borrowed a set of trade plates to nut out the demons before I go to rego. I spent about 2 hours driving around my suburb ( didn't want to stray too far far in case I had to walk home ) and apart from a easy fix hiccup all went well. I'm driving it to work in the morning, on the trade plates, to get a wheel alignment then finish off a few more detail bits before I hit rego. So far....so good.
Geez it felt great to finally put it into 2nd gear...and third....and fourth....and nail it
awesome mate!!!!!!!!!!
Yup know the feeling, great stuff GTS...good luck with the rego....

Stoked for ya buddy. What a great feeling it must have been and I can imagine how big the grin on your face was lol you will be dreaming about it and I bet your up early with the anticipation of getting to drive it again.
Enjoy cause u deserve it
No luck involved Jen...everything is brand new just like ..well...a brand new one:Chin:
I made an appointment with the rego guy yesterday and you should have seen his face light up when I told him what it was. Turns out he worked as a mechanic at the same Holden dealer where I was a parts guy about 18 months after I left.
He said he needed it for about 3 hours...:shifty:....I think he wants to go kroozin because every other inspection I've had only takes about 30 minutes.
So, after 912 days costing $30.70 average per day (every day) the story has come to an end.....I got rego this morning.
