    The right price?

The HJ Sandman ute on Australian Muscle car sales is listed at $9,990. Is this the price you pay for a ute in need of total restoration? Or is this guy dreaming?

    Cheers.

    Tell him he's dreamin!

For $9k plus, you'd want it to have most if not all original parts and maybe a paint job required. But if you're looking at rust removal or panel replacement plus replacing original Sandman bits back on, it seems a bit much.

Ha,Ha,Ha, Spot on blocker. Seem's a bit steep, just shy of ten grand. What would it end up costing you with a full restoration? I only paid eight grand for mine brand new.

    10 grand for that

There is so much wrong with that ute it is hardly a HJ. Not one part of the interior is HJ, it has a twin headlight front, incorrect engine and the gear lever has been cut down. I guess the XX7 plate must be worth $8000......

Good luck if he can get it but you'd have to be a complete moron to pay what he's asking when nearly all the original parts are missing.

I just sold my L31 M21 HX Monaro about a month ago for $4000 and it was a numbers matching car needing a complete restoration but was all original except for the front guards and nosecone.

4/75 HJ XX7 Sandman Panelvan ... Persian Sand currently restoring
7/76 HX Monaro 4dr 308 4sp... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell.. SOLD
3/77 HX Sandman Panelvan ... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell .. SOLD
