    HJ Premier instruments

I picked up this Nos HJ Premier instrument cluster to use for parts.

The speedo workings are correct for the HZ GTS speedo so I can rebuild one with Nos parts. I also now have Nos headlight idiot light lense and the brake fail lense for an early HJ GTS fascia I am restoring.

Best of all, I also now have Nos inner workings for the GTS clock so I should have a working and reliable clock for my HX Sandman......

Purely observation mate.... I bought it because I noticed the clock was the same style as a GTS one..... I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled it apart and found the other useful bits...

Check the caps haven't dried out on the clock. Being NOS still means they are old.

First thing I checked lads...... hooked it up to a battery and away she went with a flick of the adjuster arm....

I have bought all the electronic parts from Jaycar and intend replacing them all in one of the clocks I have that doesn't work to see if it fixes the problem...

Just need the time to experiment...

Byron, I seem to recall the HJ GTS dash having the emblem for the brake fail idiot light but honestly can't remember if it was the emblem or the word brake like in the later GTS fascia's. Can you tell me what you HJ Premier has in it's fascia.

When I get the hoist down next i'll look. It is up there to pull the TH400 out to change welsh plugs, and has my Bobcat parked under at present.
